R O M E . I T A L Y

I have been working on the New Soho House Rome for just under a year now and the last couple of months I have been on site installing the mock-up bedrooms and apartments ready for roll out this time next year, it a very exciting project and one that I am really passionate about as I have worked on it from the concept up.  I managed to squeeze in a day off over the weekend to explore the city a little more with my colleague, she used to live in Rome during her time at University so I was really lucky to have such a great tour guide for the day!

We started with a visit to the Trevi fountain early morning before we were hit with the hustle and bustle of tourists scrambling to the front to take the perfect selfie. It was still busy but also very peaceful in its own way. We then set our sights on breakfast where we bumped into a beautiful quiet street covered in cascading plants with the smell of fresh coffee and pastries leading us to La Buvette. Sitting a while, whilst planning the rest of our day and fueling ourselves with coffee the next stop was the Pantheon. I had been there before but always forget how stunning the architecture and presence this building has, we queued  for a short while and entered the main space where we sat in ore of the natural light pouring in through the opening on the building. The temperature was around 37 degrees which called for a stop at Giolitti, hands down the best Gelato in Rome!! The rest of the day was spent in and out of Marble shops, collecting inspiration and ideas for the next step of our design journey. I am so excited to spend more time here, the next year is most definitely going to be the year of Italy! Keep your eyes peeled for plenty more tips coming up!
