After a few rather stressful weeks at work I was well overdue a weekend away with plenty of fresh air, relaxation, and sleep.
Flash back two years ago and the not so beautiful and relaxing retreat in Oxfordshire was streaming with builders, lots of stressed out interior designers and architects! The only thing we were swimming in was mud!
Returning to the farmhouse was magical. Arriving at the gates we were warmly welcomed by the farmhouse team, dropping off our keys and offloading our bags on the customized milk floats, we set our sights on checking out what the farmhouse had to offer since our last trip. Setting off on our matching Foffa bikes (complete with name tags) allowing you to explore the site in full. There is so much to offer, from a state of the art gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, treatments on your doorstep from Soho Houses very own cowshed, a beautiful cinema and so much more!
After having lunch at their new Japanese restaurant “Pen Yen” which is effortlessly designed overlooking the purpose built boating lake, we ventured to our accommodation for the night. A last minute booking meant cabins were, unfortunately, unavailable, but .. Soho House truly took glamping to a whole new level! The tent comprised many sweet and beautiful details, Moroccan throws draped over the 6-foot bed whilst the logs were stacked up in the basket next to the wood burner ready to warm us up on the chilly spring evening with a glass of vino. Sounds dreamy right?
I truly recommend checking out Soho Farmhouse if you are looking for a relaxed weekend in the country whilst still enjoying the finer things in life. It's great for families or even a romantic weekend away, either way, I can guarantee you certainly won't get bored.
