It feels like its been a while since I posted, being so busy with work I haven’t had a chance to get out and explore London much this weekend. However, last weekend I headed east to check out Turning Earths new centre for ceramics, which opened its doors on Saturday to its 8,500 sq ft refurbished top floor of an old hardware factory.
The centre includes a large open plan open-access membership studio, which streams with natural light from a traditional saw toothed roof.
The shared facility enables designers and makers to create their beautiful artworks and ceramics and also to benefit from the community environment and shared facilities. They also offer up to 10 ceramic courses for those who are new to the craft, which are taught by professional artists.
I have always had an appreciation for beautiful ceramics and have tried to collect my own over the past couple years, keeping my eyes pealed for anything that stands out at an antique market or vintage shop. This year I am going to save up and enrol in my own course and hopefully you will see some equally beautiful ceramics made me yours truly!
Check out Turning Earths website and keep updated with all their new exciting opportunities and events..
